On the Riviera di Levante, in the Liguria region, it is very common for tourists to fall in love with a local and to try, for the rest of their life, to come back here to live or to celebrate the most important moments of their existence.
It has happened to me and it also happened to a wonderful couple from Rome: Giulia and Andrea, who decided to celebrate their wedding in the marvelous Church of St. Peter in Porto Venere. This church has been told about by Italian poet Eugenio Montale: the “Christian temple” he called it. It is a really evocative place with a breathtaking vista. What comes across looking at the eyes of these newly-weds is sweetness, tenderness, happiness of the heart and devotion. They are genuinely happy to be in a place that, more than anything else, can unite their loving hearts forever, with a touch of history and poetry.
