The passion for art the discovery of photography
My story of passion and determination
I’m German, born in Leipzig and raised in Potsdam, near Berlin.
I’ve been into art since I was a child, but when I discovered photography, at 15, it was love at first sight.
So, after high school, I moved to Hamburg to be independent from my parents and work as an assistant for photographers, film directors and TV channels: I wanted to study photography and filmmaking.
And that’s when the classic sliding door happened: in 1997 I came to Italy for a short vacation – I’ve always been attracted to Italian lifestyle, food and nature and I’ve always loved living by the sea – and I fell in love with my future husband.
I followed my heart – with all my optimism, resolution and faith in my dreams – and I decided to move, starting a new life in a small fishing village, in the lovely Cinque Terre, on The Ligurian Sea.
I left friends and family in Germany, confident that I would have found a way to follow my passion, photography, because I knew that I could be myself anywhere in the world.
But it was not easy.
Building a new life in a completely different place and becoming mother to two children absorbed all my energy and I realized that I was risking to lose my dreams, my passion for art and photography… myself.
It felt like I had no choice, that I had no way to follow my path as a photographer.
I almost gave up on my dream but when I really realized what was happening I started to reconnect to the woman I once was, and I started taking pictures again, trying to conquer “my space”, my little freedom, my life.
I realized that my passion was still there and that I needed to follow it to be myself, to be happy..
Since then, I experienced so much, attended courses and workshops to become a better photographer and took part in international contests to confront myself with the masters of world photography. .
I specialized in wedding and portrait photography and with great effort and dedication, I received the Master Level recognition of “The Portrait Masters“, an international team of professional photographers specialized in high-quality portrait photography.
I published a book documenting “The art of fishing”, exhibited my work in various exhibitions and was interviewed by the Italian press and TV about my work.
Taking photographs, to me, means capturing subjects in a natural, emotional and narrative way.
I like telling stories through images, capturing beauty and emotions and make them unforgettable by creating timeless photos.
My photography has been recognized and awarded internationally, receiving silver merits at the Masters Awards.
I love to create artistic or professional portraits, tell the magic of maternity or create timeless memories during couple or wedding photo shoots.
My photographic style
My mantra is less is more: my photographs represent me in simplicity, elegance and romantic touch.
I have a magic power: I can stop time for you, by capturing the version of you that you love the most, or your happiest moments, like pregnancy, marriage, a work turning point.
I love unveiling beauty, especially in women: my goal is to show you the most beautiful and intense image of yourself.
I like helping women to connect with their deepest self, with their essence and inner strength, because knowing ourselves makes us stronger and more determined. I found it out firsthand!
A photo shoot, to me, is not just a series of pictures but also a transformative and powerful experience, a moment just for yourself to feel unique, precious, beautiful, creating memories that you’ll appreciate forever.
Maybe you never felt photogenic, maybe you put your womanhood aside for quite some time, maybe you didn’t allow yourself to dare, to put on a red lipstick or a princess dress.
In our photo shoot, you will, we will together: being photogenic is not your responsibility, it’s up to me to make you feel comfortable and guide you.
And if what we do influences how we perceive ourselves, you can be sure that your perception of yourself will change!
A good portrait should tell a story: yours.
It should mirror your inner beauty and unveil your essence. It’s empathy that creates the spark, it’s the relationship that I try to establish with the people I photograph that makes the magic happen.
Being photographed by me means relying on the sensitivity and empathy of a photographer capable of putting the people she photographs at ease, capable of being in tune with them in order to create a safe space in which they can be themselves, capable of seeing not only with the eyes but with the heart, capable of grasping the essence.
A relationship of trust is created, a connection and bond that allows me to read emotions and understand the mood … there is understanding and complicity, participation and sharing.
What matters is to reveal something of yourself and be authentic, to trust and to be seen !
